Districts
Got lost in the city? Yeah, Palmera can be a bit overwhelming to those who just arrived. Here you'll find an overview over the districts and what you can expect finding there. Take also a look on the public transportation map in order to know how to get there.
Central Business District (CBS) aka Stadtmitte
What to expect?
Well, the name pretty much sums it up. In this district you find the headquarters of some the most powerfull companies in Palmera and you can admire their huge buildings. You will also see hotels, shops and cultural offerings. Last but not least, the Town Hall can also be found here.
What to check out.
The tourist information: Stepping out of the metro (Stadmitte) at the entrance of the Town Hall there is tourist information which informs you about the districts of Palmera.
The Town Hall: Take a look around the shops and food offerings in the basement. Maybe you want to go up to visit the mayor in his office. While you are already there, you could sneak out to the rooftop. The views are breathtaking.
Place de la Victoire: Come and sit down on a bench on this historical place and remember those who build Palmera and made it this awesome place. Uh, I think a am exaggerating a bit, actually there is only one important character in past and present of Palmera: Mayor TortugaOnline.
Opéra: Come to one of the favorite places of the city’s high society. Listen to the world’s most famous opera singers or watch an entertaining theater piece.
Zoo and university (Universität)
What to expect?
Really? Oh come on, it is not that difficult to guess after all. Ok, I’ll give you a hint: Animals and students. On a more serious note: This district is near the CBD and in the northern part of it you’ll find some nice house that you might want to check out and who knows maybe stay. In the west the district is limited by a busy highway. Metro: Zoo and Universität.
What to check out!
The Palmera Zoo: You like animals? Good, then you might enjoy this place. You’ll be able to observe wolves, ocelelots or ice bears. You can also talk a walk through the landscape park, where you can find an imitation of different great biomes. And please remember: Don’t feed the wolves!
The Aquarium: If water is your element then don’t hesitate to make a trip to the Aquarium. You can see different species of fish and underwater plants (thanks to the Update Acuatic).
The Ancient University Library: If you are rather a book worm then you want to come here. Books, books and more books are waiting for you to discover their secrets.
Altdtstadt (Historic district)
What to expect?
There is nothing like the charm of the narrow alleys between those beautiful half-timbered houses. These medevial houses will take you back to another time. Metro: Altstadt
What to check out!
The Cathedral: Admire the beauty of Palmera’s most ancient and biggest temple. As the Cathedral is located on a hill, you also can enjoy the views and get a better sense of the city. You won’t be disappointed.
Lange Straße (Main Street): Heading downwards from the Cathedral to Main Place you will walk on the old Main Street. Take a look into these old shops. As if the time had stopped at one point in history.
Marktplatz (Old Market Square): Right above the metro station Altstadt you can find this beautiful place. Here you have the old Town Hall and also the old market building. You may also sit down and enjoy a traditional German meal with a fresh beer.
Red Light Alley: Hidden between the Central Business District (Stadtmitte) and the historic district, at the bottom of the cathedral’s hill, there is a small alley where prostitutes offer their services. No worries, this is not illegal in Palmera.Districts
Déborah
What to expect?
Déborah is one of the finest neighborhoods in Palmera. Easy to acces by metro and train this part of the city shows its wealth. On the southern hills the mild climate and favorable exposition to the sun allows to grow vines. Déborah is the home of the famous and expensive Déborah wines (vins de Déborah).
What to check out!
The Capitol: Where justice is made. Don’t miss to take a selfie in front of this majestic building and post it on your favorite social network. #PalmeraCapitol
Déborah Mall: If your bank account is filled then nothing will stop you form a shopping tour in this open air mall. Here you’ll find only the finest products. Vins de déborah, jewelry, furniture, food items.
Ice Arena: You like sports? Fine, so do we. Come and watch a match of our favorite ice hockey team: The Palmera Ice Bears.
Seebrück and Waterfront
What to expect?
There is one thing in common to these two neighborhoods: water. Seebrück is located between the Blauer See (blue lake) and the Sea. It is known for its bars, cafes and general openness to all ways of thinking and being.
You don’t want to miss out on Waterfront and its beautiful channels. This is a wonderfull experience, especially by night.
What to check out!
The Fish Market: All the sight seeing made you hungry? The vendors in the Fish Market also sell fried fish. Bon appétit!
The Municipal Library: This is the city’s biggest library and the third floor is on of our favorite places to study.
The Old Village and Chinatown
What to expect?
The Old village, also known as Museumsdorf, is an intact NPC-village that has been adapted for tourists. Right next to the Old Village and Altstadt you’ll find Palmera’s exotic Chinatown. But be aware the Chinese mafia is said to be not very friendly.
What to check out!
The Old Village Museum: How did the NPCs live in their village, what did they cultivate and trade? All these questions will be answered in this museum.
Chinese Temple: In Chinatown (where else?) you will find a small temple right next to the metro (Chinatown). Pray with the locals or just a spring roll or some noodle on the street.
Miramar
What to expect?
Protected by a mountain range, Miramar has a very mild microclimate as you will notice. Palms have been planted all over the place and this dsitrict is the Palmerians favorite place for summer vacation. And believe me, as soon as you’ll see the large sand beaches you will agree with them.
The southern part of the district if the home of some of the richest inhabitants of the city. Even Mayor TortugaOnline has his residence here.
What to check out!
Miramar Plage: Plage is French and means beach. But tell me, doesn’t it sound so more much fancy to say plage? Other than that, you’ll also stumble across some hotels.
The Palm: Do you want total entertainment? I can’t hear you... Ok, then come to The Palm. Huge casino in the basement, restaurant and strip club in the first floor. Fun is guaranteed in this place. I bet you could spend days here.
Miramar Mall: The oldest and one of the biggest shopping centers in town. Take a look around but don’t miss out on the beautiful Promenade just outside.
